(2) Scanning
Activity 1:
Ask students to read the passage quickly again and answer the following questions.
①What was Wang Kun and Wang Wei’s idea of a good trip?
②Who planned the trip to the Mekong?
③Where is the source of the Mekong and which sea does it enter?
④What can you see when you travel along the Mekong?
While asking and answering questions with students, guide students to guess the meaning of the words and phrases such as: persuade, schedule, be fond of, care about, etc according to the context.
Activity 2:
Ask students to read the passage and the following sentences. And then, explain them in their own words.
①She gave me a determined look—the kind that said that she would not change her mind.
