if，whether引導(dǎo)的名詞性從句

(1)if，whether在從句中不擔(dān)任任何成分，表示“是否”。選擇型疑問從句由關(guān)聯(lián)詞if/whether…or或whether…or not構(gòu)成。例如：

Please tell me whether / if they are Swedish or Danish. 請告訴我他們是瑞典人還是丹麥人。

I don’t care whether you like the plan or not. 我不在乎你是否喜歡該計(jì)劃。

(2)whether引導(dǎo)主語從句時，既可以直接位于句首，也可以位于句末;當(dāng)it作形式主語時，主語從句放在后面用whether和if均可。例如：

Whether she comes or not makes no difference. 她來不來都沒有關(guān)系。(主語從句，不可用if代替whether)

It is a different matter whether (if) we need it. 我們需不需要它是另外一回事。(都可用)

(3)在表語從句和同位語從句中常用whether引導(dǎo)不用if。例如：

The question is whether it’s worth trying. 問題是值不值得一試。(表語從句，不能用if代替whether)

He must answer the question whether he agrees to it or not. 他必須回答他是否同意。(同位語從句，不可用if代替whether)

(4)在賓語從句中，當(dāng)表示“是否”時，whether與if可以互換，但如果從句中有or not 時只能用whether 引導(dǎo)。例如：

I didn’t know whether/if he would attend the concert. 我并不知道他是否會參加音樂會。(賓語從句可用if代替whether)

I don’t know whether he will come or not. 我不知道他是否會來。(不可用if代替whether)

(5)whether引導(dǎo)的賓語從句可作介詞的賓語，而if則不能。例如：

It all depends on whether they will support us.這完全取決于他們是否支持我們。(不能用if)
